Observed & Overheard:
Fellow blogger Harlow Heslop has launched something called The Pay It Forward project, as a sort of positivity booster for the Second Life community. After several days of nasty drama among bloggers, creators, plurkers, and who knows who else, she decided to take the initiative to encourage people to drop the drama and be a positive impact on one another – with the incentive of a free portrait – something that she asks the recipients to “pay forward,” in the form of something as simple as a kind word. You can read more about the project here!
So now, the question remains – what type of person are YOU? Do you choose to be a negative Nancy or a positive Patty? What are some things that you do to brighten people’s days around you? What are some things you would like to do – but are afraid of, for fear of seeming hokey?
For me, personally, I am what I like to call a “fixer.” If someone around me has a problem – I want (maybe even need) to fix it for them. I’m also REALLY big on “choosing your attitude.” I am a strong believer that every morning, when you wake up, you have a big, important choice – you can head into your day, determined to make it a good one – or you can let every little mishap derail you from your happiness, and be a sour, bitter person all day long, and hope that tomorrow is better. Now, I am the first to admit I have “off days.” There are some mornings I wake up just ready to pop someone in the head. But, I believe it’s important to move past those days, learn from our pitfalls, and become better, rather than bitter.
So…what attitude will you choose, today?
