Observed & Overheard:

There’s been quite a bit of talk lately of blogger entitlement.  From what I’ve seen, it’s not really much of an issue with the more established and tenured bloggers, but it seems like so many new bloggers feel like it is a designer’s job to send them things for free (sometimes even going so far as to ask for new releases in their entirety!) so that they can blog them.  Oftentimes, these same bloggers feature low-quality images and poor styling.  Now of course, this is not to say that all new or un-established bloggers are this way – but I feel as though the few bloggers that do act with this sense of entitlement are doing a pretty good job of ruining it for any well-meaning bloggers who might ask to be put on a review pack list here and there.

So, where do you stand on blogger review packs?  For designers – do you have an established list of bloggers you send to, or do you prefer to send items only to those who show interest (or, do you prefer not to send out review copies at all?)  For bloggers – do review packs delight you or daunt you?  Do you feel obligated to blog something just because it’s sent to you (even if you didn’t request it?)
