Observed & Overheard:
I’ve been in Second Life for nearly 5 years now, and in that time, we’ve seen a lot of glitches come and go. Yes, there was once a time where, 9 times out of 10, any time you TPed somewhere, when you landed, every single one of your prim attachments (HUDs included) would be wedged tightly up your rear end. Thankfully, the folks at Linden Lab have made some great strides in tidying up fun glitches like shoes-AO-hair-bum teleports, but at the same time, we still suffer with the same glitches in a lot of areas. Group chat still fails almost more often than it works. There’s still that fun glitch where you detach something 12381023 times and it still tells you it’s attached, you still see it, but no one else does…and don’t even get me started on the ever-present puffcloud that has replaced our dear old friend, Ruth.
It really kind of makes me wonder…am I more excited and grateful for things like mesh, or would I rather these prehistoric glitches never again see the light of day? Should our friends down at the Lab get to work on all the old nonsense before pursuing the new, fun, shiny things? What do you think? Are priorities straight? Would you prefer old glitches be fixed before new ones are created?
